Skin:Genius is a multi-award winning skin care range developed by a small start-up who were planning big things for their future. As part of a team during my time at Union Direct, I had the privilege of working on the development of the logo and brand identity for Skin:Genius. The challenge was to give Skin:Genius a fresh look and feel of a brand that are experts in their field while maintaining their playful brand voice. As a team we developed an ownable and recognisable brand mark by playing with the colon in their name, mimicking the dots created by applying the product. Being a brand that prides itself on quality, natural ingredients, the new brand marque fit well with the organic feel that we wanted to emulate.

With new products on the horizon, we needed to make sure that the brand colour palate and application afforded flexibility while maintaining the fresh, playful feel. The choice of colour was also important in conveying the scientific approach that the company takes when it comes to their products without feeling cold and clinical.

With a fresh look and a playful tone of voice, I look forwards to seeing (and trying!) their new products!
